2 Days Tanzania Cultural Tour to Hadzabe and Datoga Tribe with Asili Explorer Tanzania Safari will take you to the exceptional tribes residing on the border of Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, embark on an unforgettable journey to the last hunter-gatherer tribe left in Tanzania.

HADZABE TRIBE HIGHLIGHTS

In the morning after breakfast, you will be immersed in the Hadzabe and get into contact with them, you will learn so many things like how to make fire traditionary by using two dry sticks, this will date you back to the middle Stone Age. The Bushmen will instruct You on how to use their bow and arrows, find tubers, roots, and fruits with the women, or interfere with a group of men on their routine of hunting. Often Hunting is practiced in the morning tourists will follow the bushmen hunters back and spot how the traditional hunting is done. The honey gathering is a segment of it, but it depends on the season the honey gathering is done in the rainy season. You will also have a chance to participate in the Hadzabe tribal dance. Normally the tour will take 3 up to 4 hours.

DATOGA TRIBE HIGHLIGHTS

After completing the Hadzabe Bushmen tour, you will head to the other tribe called Datoga, which looks like the Maasai tribe. These people are naturally talented blacksmiths, they make diverse weapons like arrowheads and knives which they sell to the Bushmen. Our clients will watch how they create all those items (, spears, arrowheads, bracelets, knives, bracelets and so much more), also You will watch how they grind maize with traditional stones, and how they melt brass, steal iron, aluminum, and copper traditionally.

Arusha to Lake Eyasi

Morning After breakfast at your lodge, you will start heading to Lake Eyasi to meet the indigenous Hadzabe tribe, where you learn and explore the fascinating facts about their culture. We will have the Picnic lunch then we will start heading to Datoga tribe for a village tour The Datoga tribe, known for their rich cultural heritage and distinctive lifestyle, resides primarily in northern Tanzania, particularly around the Ngorongoro and Lake Eyasi regions. This semi-nomadic pastoralist community is renowned for its skilled craftsmanship, particularly in pottery and jewelry making, which reflects their deep connection to tradition and the land.

Datoga women are particularly known for their intricate beadwork, often used to create vibrant adornments that signify social status and tribal identity. Their traditional attire, characterized by colorful fabrics and elaborate jewelry, showcases their artistic flair and cultural pride.

The Datoga are also closely tied to their livestock, primarily cattle, which play a crucial role in their economy and social structure. Cattle are not only a source of sustenance but also a symbol of wealth and status within the community. The tribe practices a form of pastoralism that allows them to adapt to the region’s varying climates and resources.

Full Day Hadzabe Tribe Tour

The morning after breakfast from your camp you will meet with the bushmen guide who will lead you to the resident Hadzabe people. You will embark on the unforgettable walking into the bush with the only hunter-gatherers remaining in the East African. The Hadzabe speak a unique click-based language. Your Local Guide is a member of the Indigenous group of haze and will teach you in-depth about how they hunt traditionally, track wildlife, traditionally make a fire, and sometimes take honey from bee’s nests before introducing you to his people and explaining a little more about their total way of life. In the mid-afternoon, we head to the Maasai market where you will have a chance to get the stunning photos you need. A lot of Maasai gathers each Thursday afternoon at the Maasai market, where tourist will have the chance to watch their crafts and taste their local food, including the Maasai BBQ. A larger, village-wide market happens on the 22nd of each month. In the late afternoon, we will start heading back to Arusha for an overnight stay.

The elusive leopard is commonly spotted in the Seronera region but is found throughout the park. Its population is approximated to be about 1,000.
